Promoting tourism through territorial and cultural enhancement

WELCOME TO LAZISE

Lazise is an Italian town that today has 6,969 inhabitants, located on the shores of Lake Garda, in the province of Verona, and includes the hamlets of Colà, a small inland village located on the Morainic Hills and surrounded by green vineyards, and Pacengo, located on the lake shore to the south of Lazise. It borders Bardolino to the north, Peschiera del Garda to the south and to the east, Bussolengo. Lazise is placed  among the most visited cities in Italy owing to the beauty of Lake Garda, the evocative historical center enclosed by the Scaliger walls, the enogastronomy and the historical attidudine to the reception, with almost 1.4 million annual visitors
(ISTAT data).

The presence of the amusement parks and the Villa dei Cedri Thermal Park in Colà add further reasons to visit Lazise, not only in summer, but throughout the year. The hinterland is very vast, its hilly and agricultural landscape allow you to enjoy beautiful views and excursions emersed in nature. Over the centuries many famous people have visited Lake Garda some of which included Catullo, Goethe and Gustav Klimt, but the mass tourism phenomenon in Lazise began in the post-war period, when the inhabitants of the French Alps, especially Germans, began to descend on the south, in search of a nearby, inexpensive holiday destination. The geographical proximity and the high value of the German Mark on the old Italian currency, the Lira, are the two main factors contributing to the social and economic development of the town. The inhabitants of Lazise, whose main activities until that time were fishing and agriculture, began to invest in tourism, building accommodation facilities, such as hotels, campsites and related services.
